It was reported by SDA on May 12 that Doris Leuthard, member of Swiss Federal Council and Minister of Economics, finished the three-day visit to China. Leuthard highly praised the dialogue between China and Switzerland, saying that the two sides agreed to continuously promote cooperation talks on free trade zone. The spokesman of Swiss Ministry of Economics, Christophe Hans, who accompanied the visit, said that Doris Leuthard was very satisfied with the talks carried out between Minister of MOFCOM, Chen Deming, and other leaders. Viewing from the talks, some Chinese industrial sectors still have doubts on the free trade cooperation, such as machinery manufacturing, chemical and medical industries, which means that China-Switzerland Free Trade Agreement will not be signed in a short time, but the negotiations will be continued. According to the agreement reached by Leuthard and the former Minister of MOFCOM Bo Xilai in July 2007, China and Switzerland will carry out internal feasibility study on their cooperation respectively. By now investigation of Switzerland has been completed, and which of China is still under way. In addition, Leuthard and Chen Deming also referred to the Tibet issue, and Leuthard appreciated the initiation of dialogue between special envoy of Dalai Lama and the Chinese government.
